Three-sided Neon Flex

The original lighting introduction explored three-sided illuminated neon flex in different sizes. The design question behind that format remains useful: how should a line of light be seen as people move around it?

Consider the view, not only the front face

A profile with more than one illuminated face can be considered where a luminous edge is visible from several directions. The surrounding detail, mounting position and viewing angles all influence the result. A recessed line, an exposed edge and a suspended feature create different relationships between the product and the space.

Make size part of the design decision

Profile dimensions determine how the lighting relates to the architectural detail. A compact section can support a fine line, while a larger section can give the luminous surface more visual presence. The available installation depth, bending direction and mounting method should be reviewed alongside the desired effect.

Surface appearance alone does not establish output, colour consistency, electrical compatibility or suitability for a location. Those details come from the specification for the selected product. Start with the intended view and a dimensioned detail, then compare suitable profiles with the Midooc team before finalising the selection.
